A full forty years after the introduction of the first Ford Cobra Jet Mustang, the new limited-edition FR5000CJ Cobra Jet Mustang was recently unveiled by the automaker.

This spectacular NHRA-legal, purpose-built Mustang is a race-only model that boasts of a 6-speed manual transmission with optional automatic, a 5.4L supercharged V8 engine producing 400 horsepower, and wheel/tire combination ready for the drag strip.

The Cobra Jet is NHRA-legal to 10.00 second ETs and has an NHRA Stock Eliminator legal interior and is approximately 3,300 lbs. The Ford FR500CJ Cobra Jet Mustang comes with a $69,900 price tag. Too bad the FR500CJ is limited to only 50 production units but Ford promised to make more Cobra Jet Mustangs soon.
