Heartland Park (HPT), a multi-purpose motorsports facility in Topeka, Kansas, is making good on the promise it made last year—when it announced that there would be big changes to their track series, including the launch of a weekly race, Saturday Showdown Dirt Series. HPT hosts NHRA drag racing, World of Outlaws, and other pro and amateur races annually.
HPT recently announced that the registration for the series will be on February 21st, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Heartland Park Tech Building. The event will allow racers to take care of everything in one day. Participants can register their car number for $30, and reserve a pit stop for $50. Several crucial announcements will be made on that day, too, including payouts and and points funds for the 2009 season.
Also, season-long pit passes would be available at the event for $375. The passes are valid all throughout the season, except for several special events like the MLRA and NCRA Late Model Race and the two-day end-of-season special.
The Saturday Showdown Series will start on April 11, kicking off the season with celebrations and festivities for everybody.
